Patients must have enough healthy jawbones for implant placement, which we can identify using a CBCT scanner. We may be able to refer you for a bone graft if you are not currently a suitable candidate for treatment.
With dental implants, you’ll have no barriers when it comes to enjoying your food, smiling, laughing, and feeling confident.

Dental implants are synthetic tooth roots that function like natural tooth roots.
This is what makes them stand out as a tooth replacement treatment against their counterparts; unlike dentures and bridges, they are placed into the jawbone, allowing them to support the volume and density of the jawbone. This means your facial structure stays intact, and your chewing function feels exactly as it did when you had your own natural, healthy teeth.
Multiple teeth can also be replaced with just a single implant. The implant screw can support a bridge of up to four teeth in a row, each stable and sturdy and guaranteed for life with good hygiene and maintenance.
Implants do not rely on suction or the help of other teeth (like dentures and bridges do). Therefore, the crown that sits over the top looks and feels much more like your natural teeth.
Step 1: Consultation to discuss your treatment options and outline the steps involved.
Step 2: CBCT scans, photographs and X-rays are taken to assess your teeth, jaw, and soft tissues. We will present you with a treatment plan shortly after this appointment for you to approve prior to the next treatment step.
Step 3: On your surgery day, the implant is placed under local anaesthetic. Your jaw will take 3-6 months to heal and take on the implant as a new part of your body.
Step 4: Digital Scans and/or Impressions of the teeth on either side of the gap in your smile are taken. We use these to create your bespoke crown(s).
Step 5: Once your jaw has healed and your crown(s) have been custom created by the dental technician, we can screw it over the top of the implant.
Step 6: That’s it! You are ready to smile again!

One of the many reasons to get an implant is that it can be permanent. Whilst you will need to have your crown replacement every 10-20 years, the implant itself has the potential to last a lifetime. Just remember that gum disease can affect implants the same way as it affects teeth. Therefore, good oral hygiene and check-ups are essential.
Your implant will allow you to eat any foods you like. You won’t have to say ‘no’ to chewy and crunchy foods that may previously have been a challenge when you were missing a tooth or had slipping and sliding dentures.
There is so much more to replacing missing teeth than having a complete smile again. The confidence benefits that come with a near-identical replacement to teeth, such as dental implants, can be a phenomenal game-changer. You will feel you no longer reach to cover your mouth when you smile and speak, bringing about huge advantages for your mental well-being.
Tooth replacement with implants will also stop the deterioration of the jawbone. This keeps your face looking full-bodied and youthful. Unfortunately, tooth loss and restorations like dentures and bridges don’t offer the same support, which can lead to jawbone loss.
